Abstract Charles Herman Hubbell was an American commercial aviation artist. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1899 he became interested in aviation at an early age by building model airplanes. He enlisted in the United States Navy during World War I and assisted in designing naval aircraft. After the war, he attended the Cleveland School of Art until he graduated in 1922.
