Scope and Contents

The materials in this collection were created from 1968-1978. The entire collection consists of posters. The posters announce events presented by the Chicano Studies Department at California State University, Los Angeles. The events include Feria De La Raza, United Mexican-American Students Present Community Day on Campus and a series of posters announcing the message, “Conoce Tu Herencia Cultural”.

Abstract Charles Herman Hubbell was an American commercial aviation artist. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1899 he became interested in aviation at an early age by building model airplanes. He enlisted in the United States Navy during World War I and assisted in designing naval aircraft. After the war, he attended the Cleveland School of Art until he graduated in 1922. Hubbell began a career as a commercial artist for companies such as Woodroot Hair Tonic, Lucky Tiger, and Campbell Soups. He is best...
