Ya Basta Fabric Flag, u.d.
Scope and Contents
This small series consists of five items which include two t-shirts, a bag, a flag, and bumper sticker. The bag is from the 8th Trinational Coalition to Defend Public Education conference. The Coalition had its beginnings in 1993 and funded by teacher unions from Canada, Mexico, and the United States in an effort to organize a formal, educator-driven commission. The series also includes a bumper sticker from 2001 Boycott of Taco Bell. The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), a grass roots community organization of mostly Latino, Haitian, and Mayan Indian farmworkers-began organizing to confront sweatshop conditions in the fields of Florida. In 2001 CIW launched the first-ever farmworker boycott of a fast-food corporation against Taco Bell.
